Often we don't meditate because it's hard to sit still for very long. I know because when I started my back used to hurt after a minute or so.
Here are 3 easy steps:
1) Make sure your hips are higher than your knees by sitting up on a cushion, in a firm chair or on a meditation stool;
2) Keep your elbows in close to your body to let your shoulders stay relaxed;
3) Start with just a few minutes or so and work up to longer.
